Adorable Handmade Barbra Streisand Dolls

While browsing Pinterest boards one day, I came across photos of adorable Barbra Streisand dolls. I did a little digging and was able to contact the craftsman, Dennis Beltran.

While Streisand is a favorite of Beltran, he creates dolls of other celebrities, too.

"Generally new clients see my past work and choose which doll they want from photos," Beltran told me, "but every doll is a one of a kind, so is best to chose what character or film one likes most and thinks would translate well to a doll and we go from there."

Dolls start at $300 plus shipping and typically take about a month to complete. They stand approximately 15" tall and are wired, making them easy to pose.

Discussing the creation process Beltran told me, "I like to send progress shots as I work. I feel it helps people bond better with their dolls and they can give any input or suggestions while the doll is coming to life."

Barbra Streisand Has a Hidden Talent

Singer, actress, director, song writer - these are just a few of Barbra Streisand's accolades. All About Barbra blog is reporting, though, that sketching needs to be added to this already impressive list. The photo above shows an original Streisand drawing of Sammie, Barbra's beloved dog.

I like to add costumes to my repertoire as a Barbra Streisand tribute artist. It keeps things fun for me and gives me options to choose from for different venues I perform in. As you can see, this costume is the iconic leopard coat and hat from the opening scene of "Funny Girl" where Barbra speaks those memorable words, "Hello, Gorgeous".

Barbra Streisand and James Brolin Address Marriage Rumors

I wrote recently about questions I get as a Barbra Streisand tribute artist on the status of Barbra's marriage with husband, James Brolin. Yesterday while at the supermarket a magazine cover caught my eye. On the cover of the February 17th edition of Closer Weekly magazine were Barbra Streisand and James Brolin. The headline read, "The Truth About Our Marriage".

While I'm not typically a big fan of celebrity gossip magazines, the article features an interesting interview with the famous couple where they reveal some of their secrets of marital bliss - even after 17 years of marriage. They discuss having regular counseling sessions a few times a year to keep them on track. The article reveals a relationship between two very different people based on mutual respect and a deep love.

Barbra Streisand Secret Indian Jones Appearance

I heard the story years ago that Barbra Streisand appeared in a spoof Indian Jones film made by Stephen Spielberg as a joke on actor Harrison Ford. The film was never intended for public viewing and remained safely in Spielberg's private vault -  until a bootlegged copy hit the internet. Carrie Fisher also appeared in the spoof.

An article appeared on The Huffington Post about it in 2001.  It also appeared as an embedded YouTube video on i09.com, but was shut down siting copyright restrictions. This site does, however, have the text posted on the page. Upon searching further I did find that Yahoo! Movies has the actual video on their site. The full story is told by ABC News.

The quality of the video is very poor, but you can see the stars having a good time filming this little joke.
